BANYAK dari kita sebagai orang tua hanya menuntut anak berprestasi dalam pendidikannya, tanpa kita mau tahu bagaimana cara anak mendapatkan prestasinya. Tidak tertutup kemungkinan ada perilaku yang menyimpang dari anak dalam proses mendapatkan prestasinya tersebut, misalnya dengan menyontek.

Bisa juga kadang orang tua sengaja mengerjakan tugas anak-anaknya agar mendapatkan nilai yang bagus. Cara ini tentu menjadikan anak malas dalam belajar dan akan bergantung dengan kita sebagai orang tua. Hal ini berdampak menurunnya rasa percaya diri pada anak dan akan terbawa hingga dewasa bahkan dalam proses kehidupannya.

Sebagai orang tua kita hanya memfasilitasi dan memandu anak dalam proses pendidikannya agar tercapai prestasi yang maksimal yang sesuai dengan pilihan akademis berdasarkan minat dan bakatnya, tanpa terlibat langsung dalam menyelesaikan tugas-tugas sekolah anak.

Perilaku menyontek anak ini salah satu dari sekian banyak perilaku menyimpang di masyarakat kita. Termasuk perilaku orang tua yang membantu langsung tugas-tugas sekolah anaknya adalah perilaku menyimpang. Dan kita tidak menyadari dampak jangka panjang yang tidak baik bagi kehidupan anak di masa yang akan datang.

Perilaku menyimpang yang dikenal dengan nama penyimpangan sosial adalah perilaku yang tidak sesuai dengan norma sosial di masyarakat atau suatu kelompok atau aturan yang telah diinstitusikan, yaitu aturan yang telah disepakati bersama dalam sistem sosial. Dalam Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia perilaku menyimpang diartikan sebagai tingkah laku, perbuatan, atau tanggapan seseorang terhadap lingkungan yang bertentangan dengan norma-norma dan hukum yang ada di dalam masyarakat.

Menyontek (cheating) adalah perilaku atau perbuatan curang yang dilakukan untuk menghindari kegagalan hasil ujian atau nilai akademis dengan menggunakan cara tidak jujur seperti; melihat hasil jawaban orang lain, menulis catatan kecil di meja, telapak tangan, atau sobekan kertas yang tersembunyi, melihat buku pedoman, catatan atau media elektronik (Hand Phone).

Menyontek juga dapat diartikan memberikan, menggunakan ataupun menerima segala informasi, menggunakan materi yang dilarang digunakan dan memanfaatkan kelemahan seseorang, prosedur ataupun suatu proses untuk mendapatkan suatu keuntungan yang dilakukan pada tugas-tugas akademik.

Faktor penyebab menyontek dan pencegahannya:

1) Adanya tekanan untuk mendapatkan nilai yang tinggi

Selain karena keinginan anak untuk mendapatkan nilai tinggi, sumber tekanan anak kadang dari orang tua yang bangga saat anak mendapatkan nilai yang tinggi dan menganggap nilai tinggi sebagai pencapaian akhir dari prestasi anak.

Seharusnya sebagai orang tua cukup mengawasi dan mengarahkan proses belajarnya saja agar anak berupaya maksimal. Dengan berupaya maksimal tentu harapan kita akan mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal juga.

2) Ketakutan mendapatkan kegagalan

Misalnya takut tidak naik kelas, takut mengikuti ulangan susulan. Kita harus menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri kepada anak tentang kemampuannya sehingga anak percaya diri dan tidak takut saat menjalani ujian di sekolah.

3) Adanya persepsi bahwa sekolah melakukan hal yang tidak adil

Sekolah dianggap hanya memberikan akses ke siswa-siswa yang cerdas dalam berprestasi sehingga siswa-siswi yang memiliki kemampuan menengah merasa tidak diperhatikan dan dilayani dengan baik.

Sebagai orang tua saat anak berkeluh kesah tentang hal tersebut kita harus memberikan keterangan agar anak mengerti sekolah berlaku adil kepada siswa-siswinya.

4) Kurangnya waktu untuk menyelesaikan tugas sekolah

Siswa terkadang mendapatkan tugas secara bersama. Waktu penyerahan tugas yang bersamaan tersebut membuat siswa tidak dapat membagi waktunya.

Orang tua memberikan saran agar anak bisa berdiskusi dengan guru tentang tugas yang bersamaan waktu penyelesaiannya (diatur ulang jadwal pengumpulan tugasnya).

5) Tidak adanya sikap menentang perilaku menyontek di sekolah

Tak dipungkiri kadang ada beberapa siswa dan guru menganggap biasa perilaku mencontek ini. Karena itu, banyak siswa membiarkan perilaku menyontek atau terkadang justru membantu terjadinya perilaku ini.

Bila anak memberikan informasi tentang hal tersebut di atas, kita sebagai orang tua bisa berkunjung ke sekolah untuk berdiskusi dengan pihak sekolah agar perilaku menyontek tidak menjadi budaya di sekolah.

Peran kita sebagai orang tua selain memfasilitasi dan mendampingi anak dalam proses menempuh jenjang pendidikannya juga menanamkan nilai-nilai kebaikan, kejujuran, menumbuhkan sifat percaya diri, memotivasi bila perlu diberikan hadiah saat berprestasi di sekolah.

Dalam perilaku kita sehari-hari harus memberikan contoh perilaku yang baik dan jujur dalam kehidupan, agar menjadi contoh nyata dalam kehidupan anak kita.***
