Aktivitas sehari-hari warga Timor Timur (Timor Leste) di Dusun Babakan Mulya RT 02/RW 04, Desa Gunungmanik, Kecamatan Tanjungsari, diwarnai beragam kegiatan. Bagi warga yang sudah dewasa, mereka bekerja di berbagai lapangan pekerjaan dan anak-anak usia sekolah menempuh pendidikan mulai SD sampai perguruan tinggi (PT).

SUASANA di lokasi bermukimnya warga Timor Leste di Dusun Babakan Mulya, Kecamatan Tanjungsari, Jumat siang itu, terlihat agak sepi. Maklum, saat itu sebagian besar penghuni yang didominasi anak-anak usia sekolah tengah bersekolah ke berbagai lokasi.

Saat menjelang Jumatan, sekitar pukul 11.00, terlihat satu persatu per satu anak kembali ke kompleks hunian. Mereka ada yang berpakaian seragam SD, SMP, dan SMA. Anak-anak itu baru saja kembali dari mengikuti pendidikan di berbagai sekolah yang tersebar di seputar Tanjungsari dan Jatinangor.

Menurut Ketua Yayasan Lemorai Timor Indonesia, Al Siti Khodijah IDS, kini, sebanyak 18 anak menempuh pendidikan di berbagai perguruan tinggi, seperti Unwim, Uninus, STT Mandala, Ikopin, STISI Telkom, STIMIK Tasikmalaya, dan universitas terbuka (UT).

“Selebihnya, anak-anak menempuh pendidikan di SD hingga SMA. Selain itu, juga terdapat sebanyak delapan balita (bayi di bawah lima tahun),” kata Al Siti Khodijah, kepada Zonaliterasi.id, baru-baru ini.

Seksi Departemen Sosial Yayasan Lemorai Timor Indonesia, Syamsudin Daud, mengatakan, aktivitas penghuni di lokasi itu selalu kental dengan nilai-nilai keislaman. Saat terdengar kumandang adzan Subuh, penghuni sudah terlihat berjamaah di masjid yang berlokasi di seputar hunian. Anak-anak laki-laki dan perempuan yang ditempatkan terpisah, masing-masing di asrama laki-laki dan asrama perempuan, bersama-sama menyambut pagi dengan mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT.

“Setelah Subuh, biasanya penghuni mendapat wejangan-wejangan dari pembimbing selama 10 menit. Wejangan itu berisi petuah-petuah untuk memotivasi anak-anak agar selalu mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT, meningkatkan semangat belajar, dan hidup rukun baik sesama penghuni maupun masyarakat di seputar hunian,” katanya.

Dia menuturkan, untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam kepada penghuni, anak-anak diharuskan mengikuti berbagai materi pendidikan agama, seperti tauhid, fiqih, bahasa Arab, sertaq baca dan tulis Al Quran.

“Materi itu biasanya disampaikan ketika anak-anak pulang sekolah dan kuliah. Mereka dibimbing oleh guru-guru yang juga berasal dari internal yayasan. Sebenarnya, kami pun menginginkan guru-guru yang berasal dari luar hunian. Namun, karena keterbatasan dana, keinginan itu hingga saat ini belum bisa direalisasika,” katanya.

Syamsudin menambahkan, untuk menambah keterampilan anak-anak, para pembimbing juga menggelar beragam progam pelatihan.

“Di bidang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi misalnya, kami memiliki beberapa perangkat komputer untuk yang menjadi wahana untuk mendidik anak-anak mendalami teknologi komputer. Selain itu, kami pun memanfaakan tanah yang berlokasi di belakang hunia untuk berkebun. Di situ anak dididik agar bisa bercocok tanam,” tutur Syamsudin. (dede suherlan)***
