BULLYING atau perundungan di lingkungan pendidikan kini semakin marak terjadi dan menjadi sorotan publik karena kasusnya semakin meningkat. Malangnya, bullying juga banyak terjadi di lingkungan sekolah dasar.
Bullying adalah perilaku agresif yang dilakukan secara berulang oleh seseorang/sekelompok orang yang merasa berkuasa hingga berani untuk menyakiti orang lain atau orang yang lebih lemah. Selain merugikan korban secara fisik dan emosional, bullying juga dapat berdampak negatif pada hubungan sosial, kesejahteraan mental, hingga prestasi akademik korban.

Pencegahan bullying perlu dilakukan sejak dini agar dapat membentuk karakter yang sehat sehingga siswa dapat merasa aman dan nyaman untuk belajar di lingkungan sekolah. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa PGSD UPI Kampus Cibiru, khususnya angkatan 2022, dengan bimbingan dari Bapak Yusuf Tri Herlambang, S.Pd., M.Pd. selaku dosen pengampu mata kuliah Pedagogik membuat proyek konstruksi sosial masyarakat dengan melakukan penyuluhan anti-bullying kepada siswa-siswi di sekolah dasar.

Pada hari Senin, 29 Mei 2023 kami dari kelompok 5 yang beranggotakan 8 orang yakni Agni Fristy, Chichi Elsa Nurhayati, Farha Salsabila, Fatimatul Zahro, Fina Lutfiah Munawiroh, Nadia Azzahra, Syifa Auliya Febriana, dan Windy Fazri Nurramdhani melakukan penyuluhan anti-bullying kepada para siswa kelas 5 yang berjumlah 80 orang di Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) Cangkuang 03, Desa Cangkuang, Kecamatan Rancaekek, Kabupaten Bandung.

Kami juga mengundang pembicara berpengalaman sebagai pemateri dalam kegiatan penyuluhan anti-bullying ini, Kak Agida Hafsyah Febriagivary, S.Pd. (alumni PGPAUD UPI Kampus Cibiru tahun 2017). Kak Agida menyampaikan materi dengan sangat baik mengenai pencegahan anti-bullying. Beliau telah mengajari anak-anak tentang bullying dan cara menghadapinya dengan menggunakan strategi yang tepat dan metode pengajaran interaktif.

Kegiatan ini dinilai berhasil karena materi yang disampaikan mendapat respons positif dan adanya sikap baik yang diberikan para peserta. Respons positif juga diberikan dengan ikut berpartisipasi dalam diskusi dan menjawab pertanyaan tentang bullying di kalangan siswa. Ada siswa yang kemudian menyadari bahwa mereka telah menjadi pelaku bully dan ada juga siswa yang tersadar dan menjadi lebih berani dalam menangani bully dengan cara-cara yang telah dididik.

Materi Stop Bullying mendorong siswa untuk antusias dan memahami perilaku bullying. Penyuluhan kesadaran dan sosialisasi anti bullying dapat membantu siswa sekolah dasar dalam memahami apa itu bullying, berbagai bentuknya, dan dampak buruknya. Mereka dapat belajar lebih banyak tentang betapa pentingnya memperlakukan teman sekelas mereka dengan hormat dan saling melindungi. Namun demikian, penting untuk diingat bahwa efek dari sosialisasi anti-bullying mungkin tidak selalu langsung terlihat dan mungkin membutuhkan waktu. Untuk memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap pengurangan bullying di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar, perlu juga menjaga konsistensi, pengulangan, dan dukungan berkelanjutan utamanya dari sekolah, guru, dan orang tua.

Pelaksanaan penyuluhan anti-bullying juga mendapat dukungan positif dari pihak sekolah, khususnya kepala sekolah SDN Cangkuang 03, Bapak Yayan Suryana, S.Pd., M.Pd. yang telah menyediakan waktu dan sumber daya yang cukup untuk menyelenggarakan kegiatan penyuluhan, guru dan warga sekolah juga memberikan dukungan positif dengan cara mempermudah jalannya kegiatan ini.

Dengan diadakannya kegiatan penyuluhan anti-bullying ini, selain meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang cara mencegah dan mengatasi bullying, diharapkan juga dapat memberikan manfaat pada pengembangan sikap saling menghargai dan toleransi terhadap perbedaan. Siswa juga diharapkan dapat mengaplikasikannya pada kehidupan sehari-hari agar saling menciptakan suasana yang aman dan nyaman di lingkungan sekolah maupun masyarakat. Sesungguhnya, dengan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan bebas dari bullying dapat membantu meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan yang lebih baik lagi.
