ZONALITERASI.ID – Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) menetapkan sekolah swasta dapat ikut dalam proses Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Kebijakan itu tercantum dalam Permendikbud Nomor 1 Tahun 2021 tentang PPDB.
Inspektur Jenderal (Irjen) Kemendikbud, Chatarina Muliana Girsang, mengatakan, Permendikbud itu dibuat atas dasar berbagai pertimbangan, salah satunya adalah adanya usulan dari para kepala dinas pendidikan (disdik) di setiap daerah.
Lanjut Chatarina, bergabungnya sekolah swasta dalam PPDB akan menguntungkan. Pasalnya, siswa yang tidak terjaring untuk sekolah negeri, akan langsung tertampung di sekolah swasta.
“Tidak ada lagi calon siswa yang mesti pusing untuk kembali mencari sekolah ketika tidak lolos di sekolah negeri. Anak yang tidak tersalur di sekolah negeri dapat masuk ke sekolah swasta tertentu yang memiliki kualitasnya dinilai bagus oleh masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Chatarina mengungkapkan, kebijakan lebih baik daripada tahun sebelumnya. Satuan pendidikan swasta pun tidak perlu bersusah payah untuk mencari siswa.
“Sekolah negeri tidak perlu menambah ruang kelas untuk menampung lebih banyak siswa. Saat ini, siswa langsung dapat diterima ke sekolah swasta,” pungkasnya. (haf)***
