Acara tersebut diselenggarakan oleh Kelompok Masyarakat Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Batu Hiu dan Karang Taruna Desa Ciliang.
Wabup Pangandaran, Ujang Endin Indrawan, menyampaikan apresiasi atas digelarnya Batuhiu Culture Festival.
“Saya mengapresiasi yang setinggi-tingginya kepada panitia penyelenggara, dan para budayawan baik dari Pangandaran ataupun dari Banjar, Ciamis, dan sekitarnya,” ujar Wabup.
Menurut Wabup, acara ini bukan hanya sebagai wujud rasa syukur masyarakat Desa Ciliang Batuhiu, namun juga menjadi ajang silaturahmi masyarakat Kabupaten Pangandaran dan sekitarnya.
“Acara ini merupakan event wisata Kabupaten Pangandaran. InsyaAllah wisata Pangandaran akan semakin maju, setelah covid ini pariwisata, infrastruktur, dan wisawatan kita semakin maju,” tuturnya.
Wabup mendo’akan objek wisata Pantai Batu Hiu dapat dikenal oleh jagat nasional maupun internasional.
“Mudah-mudahan Pantai Batuhiu, pariwisata kita semakin mendunia, dan masyarakat kita semakin sejahtera. Mudah-mudahan dalam acara festival ini yang datang bukan hanya dari Desa Ciliang saja namun juga dari desa lainnya,” katanya.
Wabup menambahkan, kegiatan budaya seperti ini dapat dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan lagi dari sisi kualitas maupun kuantitas.
Hadir dalam festival tersebut, Forkompinda Kabupaten Pangandaran, jajaran SKPD Kabupaten Pangandaran, para Budayawan, dan warga Desa Ciliang.
Batuhiu Culture Festival atau biasa disebut Tradisi Ruwat Jagat Sila Saamparan merupakan tradisi tahunan yang terdiri dari beberapa acara inti mulai dari Kirab Budaya, Menuangkan Air Kahuripan dari 10 Kecamatan, Makan Tumpeng, Pergelaran Calung, Penampilan Seni Debus Jawa Barat, Ronggeng Amen, dan Festival Layang-layang atau Sasawangan.
