ZONALITERASI.ID – Times Higher Education (THE) merilis peringkat THE Asia University Rankings 2023. Dari universitas teratas di benua Asia, tak ada satupun perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang masuk 20 besar.

Dari 20 besar kampus yang masuk universitas di benua Asia itu, perguruan tinggi di China mendominasi dengan 7 kampus. Selanjutnya disusul oleh Korea Selatan dengan 3 kampus, Hongkong 5, Jepang 2, Singapura 2, dan Arab Saudi 1 kampus.

THE Asia University Rankings 2023 merupakan peringkat kampus terbaik di Asia berdasarkan penilaian THE. Peringkat THE Asia University 2023 berisi 669 universitas dari 31 negara.

Pemeringkatan THE AUR 2023 menggunakan 13 indikator yang terbagi dalam lima bidang, salah satunya pengajaran (lingkungan belajar) sebesar 25 persen dan penelitian (volume, pendapatan dan reputasi) sebesar 30 persen.

Lalu, ada bidang indikator kutipan (pengaruh penelitian) sebesar 30 persen, wawasan internasional (staf, mahasiswa dan penelitian) sebesar 7,5 persen, dan pendapatan industri (transfer pengetahuan) sebesar 7,5 persen.

Sebanyak 79 universitas di Asia sudah mengikuti pemeringkatan sejak tahun lalu. Dari universitas terbaru itu, delapan universitas berasal dari Pakistan, diikuti masing-masing tujuh universitas dari Iran dan Turki.

Indonesia sendiri, selain belum masuk dalam daftar top 20, juga tidak masuk dalam negara terbanyak masuk peringkat. Dalam peringkat universitas terbaik di Asia versi THE Asia University Ranking 2023 itu, posisi teratas kampus di Indonesia dipegang oleh Universitas Indonesia dengan peringkat 251-300 dan disusul Institut Teknologi Bandung dengan peringkat 351-400.
