“Saya ingin menjadi seseorang yang bermanfaat bagi kehidupan orang lain. Salah satunya yaitu ikut berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan pelayanan kesehatan di pedesaan, khususnya di Provinsi Jawa Barat,” kata Ana, dikutip dari laman The Global Health Delivery, Rabu, 26 Juli 2023.
Menurutnya, dia bisa kuliah S2 di jurusan Global Health Delivery Harvard University sejak 2021 melalui fasilitas Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI).
Ana merasa sangat beruntung dapat berkuliah S2 di Harvard Medical School melalui jalur beasiswa luar negeri. Berkuliah di Harvard merupakan salah satu mimpi Ana.
“Saya bersyukur karena jika melihat ke belakang, saya anak keempat dari empat bersaudara, saya anak bungsu. Ayah saya lulusan SMA, ibu saya lulusan SMP. Saya bersyukur sekali,” ujarnya ketika membagikan pengalamannya melalui akun Instagram Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI).
Dengan beasiswa Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) tersebut, Ana menjadi satu-satunya dari anggota keluarganya yang dapat mengenyam pendidikan tinggi hingga ke jenjang S2.
“Bisa dibilang saya bukan termasuk ke dalam orang yang cukup privilage, saya bersyukur sekali. BPI memberikan beasiswa penuh, seperti pemberian biaya kuliah yang langsung dibayarkan oleh LPDP ke Harvard University.
Sempat Bekerja di DOCTA
Ana menuturkan, sebelum terbang ke Negeri Paman Sam, dia sempat menjadi manajer operasi klinis di DOCTA, sebuah perusahaan startup (telemedicine) kesehatan di Indonesia. Dari pengalaman itulah ia terinspirasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan S2 Global Health Delivery dan pengobatan sosial.
Diketahui, telemedicine atau konsultasi merupakan praktik penggunaan teknologi untuk memberikan pelayanan kesehatan secara jarak jauh. Seorang dokter di satu tempat menggunakan teknologi komunikasi untuk melayani pasien yang berada di tempat lain.
Menurut Ana, saat bekerja di DOCTA, ia berupaya menghubungkan masyarakat yang tinggal di pedesaan dan daerah terpencil dengan bidan, perawat, hingga dokter layanan kesehatan primer yang bekerja di puskesmas.
“Saya berharap Indonesia bisa benar-benar mengimplementasikan penggunaan telemedicine agar masyarakat Indonesia tidak tertinggal dalam hal pelayanan kesehatan. Telemedicine mempunyai peluang yang besar dalam memperluas kesehatan bagi masyarakat pedesaan yang sulit mendapatkan pelayanan, setidaknya untuk sekedar diagnosa,” terangnya. (des)***
