ZONALITERASI.ID – Gubernur Jawa Barat, Ridwan Kamil, mencanangkan Gedung Sate sebagai destinasi wisata dan terbuka untuk umum. Diketahui, pada 27 Juli mendatang, usia Gedung Sate menginjak 103 tahun.

“Gedung Sate menjadi destinasi wisata secara resmi. Dibuka bertahap. Agar orang tidak hanya menikmati bagian luarnya saja, tapi bisa ke dalam. Masyarakat umum dapat melihat kemegahan Aula Barat dan Aula Timur Gedung Sate. Atau menyusuri puncak Gedung Sate dan melihat Gunung Tangkuban Parahu. Hanya ruang perkantoran yang tak dapat diakses dengan bebas,” kata Emil, sapaan Ridwan Kamil, beberapa waktu lalu.

Menurut Emil, prinsip place making atau sense of place diterapkan dalam setiap proses revitalisasi. Ada tiga indikator dalam prinsip tersebut. Pertama adalah arsitektur atau ruang. Kedua, aktivitas. Dan ketiga ada memori positif.

“Ciri bangunan yang dicintai itu selalu dirindukan untuk datang lagi. Gedung Sate ini tidak akan pernah bosen dikunjungi. Dari anak-anak sampai orang tua pasti ingin ke sini lagi,” katanya.

“Bagaimana sense Gedung Sate itu rasa Jawa Barat. Tidak melulu rasa Bandung lagi. Ada tiang-tiang. Empat belas di kiri dan 14 di kanan. Membentuk ruang. Di bawahnya ada logonya kabupaten/kota dan sejarahnya,” sambung Emil.

Ruang Publik

Antropolog Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), Hardian Eko Nurseto, mengatakan, taman Gedung Sate menjadi ruang publik yang dapat memperlihatkan bagaimana interaksi pemerintahan dan masyarakat.

Sebagai simbol pemerintahan, Gedung Sate bisa menjadi ruang aspiratif. Masyarakat dapat menyampaikan aspirasi di area depan. Kemudian, Gedung Sate merupakan ruang edukasi.

“Ruang edukasi di mana masyarakat bisa ke sini, tidak hanya belajar tentang sejarah dan arsitektur, bangunan Gedung Sate, tapi juga mempelajari banyak hal,” kata Hardian.

Menurut Hardian, Gedung Sate menyediakan ruang kreasi, di mana karya-karya komunitas Jabar lahir. Ia mencontohkan bagaimana festival atau pameran di Gedung Sate dapat memicu usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) Jabar untuk berinovasi.

“Mereka bangga kalau sudah pameran di Gedung Sate. Banyak orang berbondong-bondong berusaha untuk bisa berpameran di Gedung Sate,” ucapnya.

Gedung Sate, kata Hardian, menciptakan ruang rekreasi. Tempat di mana memori masyarakat terbangun.

“Kita datang menikmati rumput yang hijau. Di ruang rekreasi ini orang datang untuk berbagai tujuan, seperti olahraga,” katanya.

Arsitek sekaligus Penulis Mystery of Art Deco Bandung, Djefry W. Dana, mengapreasi langkah Emil. Menurutnya, masyarakat berhak untuk mengakses Gedung Sate.

“Perjalanan peradaban modern Indonesia dan dunia ada di Gedung Sate. Sehingga tidak heran banyak dikunjungi, bukan hanya wisatawan lokal, wisatawan asing pun terkagum-kagum,” kata Djefry.

“Menarik sekali kalau Kang Emil mengadakan acara dengan konsep seperti ini. Dan mencoba menguak konsep riil Gedung Sate ini apa. Sebuah langkah yang maju dari seorang pemimpin daerah. Ini harus diapresiasi oleh semua masyarakat,” imbuhnya. (des)***
